You have got to be kidding me

A couple of weeks ago I "wrote" a newsletter for a minor sport org. since we had some small sportsmnaship issues. "wrote" meaning I found a bunch of articles on sport and sportsmanship and cut cobbled and latered until it wasn't plagarism and pumped out something that fit our little club. Today my wife overhears that parents are paying their children by the basket! Seriously, could you make it any harder to get kids to pass the ball?

If you want a copy of the newsletter you can email me.

Cheers

So what can I do?

For a long time I've believed there's not much I can do for Africa, recently my church started to work towards a mission trip for this summer. You can find it here: http://www.nfld.com/~sjtemple/

I read about this amazing project in Sports Illustrated:

Either way there's plenty to do..

Ancient wisdom

" 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11Give us today our daily bread. 12Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.[a]' 14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Matthew 6: 9-14 (New International Version)

Simple enough, forgive already

It is said that God casts ALL our sins into the sea of forgetfulness. That is such a good thing.
So tomorrow you can forgive that kid or colleague or whomever their indiscretions, can't you?

I'm guessing it will make you a better / teacher / coach / husband / Dad / etc.

Blessings ....

Let's review

LEt's look at last year's resolutions:

Be it resolved:

I will spend more time with my kids.
I will be more involved in their school work.
I will limit their video game time.
I will encourage them to read more.
I will not believe that this is the magic bullet.
I will be patient.

... pretty good on most, the video game time is still up there and the reading time is still too low. Always room for improvement ...

So here's the deal

Not just cause the lights are going up
not just because the decorations are appearing
certainly not because of the shopping
but Christmas is coming

For me this miracle has overwhelmed me
The incarnation! God became an infant, so that he could became a savior.
That's a gift.

Merry Christmas
